From the Desk of Dr. Andreas Marx

December 2011

Dear Colleague,

Lion’s Mane Mushroom (Hericium erinaceus), which grows during late summer and autumn on hardwoods, particularly on American Beech, has lately received attention in medicinal research. Some of its active ingredients seem to have an effect on Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other dementia conditions. In Asia Lion’s Mane has been considered a medicinal mushroom for centuries.

Marco Pharma introduced this mushroom to the U.S. as a combination liposome called Mycosurge in 1994.

Impressive research studies have discovered and underlined the medicinal value of a “Nerve Growth Factor” for human astrocytes (brain cells). Scientists have further investigated this mushroom for possible anti-dementia compounds. They discovered that Lion’s Mane stimulates myelination, i.e., formation of a myelin sheath surrounding the axon of the neuron.

Please see articles in your PRG (Mirror of Nature) about the many benefits of Mycosurge (A Twelve Medicinal Mushroom Combination). This remedy will make a great adjunct to Cerebro PTC, to vitalize and even better regenerate our brains.

It’s a blessing to always learn something new.

Season’s Greetings,

Dr. Andreas Marx
